Keeping the boat in a slip means it is always in the water and ready to go. That convenience is ideal for frequent boaters who want to walk down the dock and leave without scheduling a launch or towing a trailer.
Slip pricing depends on boat length, location, and amenities. Small slips at rural marinas can be a few hundred dollars a month, while large slips at premium waterfront marinas run into the thousands.
A slip is a docked space with walk-on access, usually with power and water. A mooring is an anchored buoy you tie to and reach by dinghy, typically at a lower cost.
